Montana has not legalised real-money online casino. Montana law (as amended by SB 555 in 2025) explicitly treats unlicensed internet gambling, including offshore and crypto casinos, as illegal gambling; no offshore/crypto operator holds a Montana licence. A state that has not legalised online casino has not thereby made an offshore site legal. The practical difference for a player is recourse: there is no state regulator to complain to when something goes wrong.

SB 555 (2025) revised Montana gambling law to prohibit dual-currency online sweepstakes casinos and added felony penalties; signed May 2025, effective Oct 1, 2025 per most trackers (sweepsy lists 5/12/2025 as the enactment date).
