Everything in the controversies field came from a public source, so each is repeatable without us.
Look up the licence number on the regulator's register. Eight of the twelve have a number on our record; four do not. Where the number came from matters as much as the number itself. Only three of the eight were read on a page the operator publishes: Betfury's documentation, Stake's own site, Roobet's help centre. Four came from a review site rather than from the operator — Bitcasino.io's from btcgambling.com, Duelbits' and Metaspins' from cryptoslate.com, Thunderpick's from punter2pro.com — and Thunderpick's record says so inside the field itself, which reads "not verified against the Curacao register". Shuffle's has no source attached at all.
Of the four with no number, our note on Bovada is blunt: "Bovada publishes no licence number anywhere on the site." It would have to come from the Anjouan register instead. Winna publishes none either, and our note points to the Tobique Gaming Commission's own list of licence holders. Nine of the twelve hold a Curaçao licence, and Bitcasino.io's file shows why the register is the only place to settle one: two sources quote the same number, OGL/2023/111/0069, under two different regulator names.
Search the operator's domain on Have I Been Pwned. That is where the 96,166,543-account figure quoted above came from. The search is free and returns either a breach record with a date or nothing. It answers a question no operator answers about itself.
Read the complaint distribution, not the average. A 3.6 out of 5 with a fifth of reviews at one star is two populations, not a middling one. Complaint databases are better still: they record what the operator said back.
Check the public registers. Poland's Ministry of Finance publishes a register of blocked gambling domains; US state attorneys general publish their filings. Both produced entries on this site, and a sister brand's record is worth the same look.
Weigh the silence against how long it has been possible. Our record has Bovada trading since 2011 and Winna since 2024, though Bovada's own file still flags that year as needing confirmation, because the homepage advertises years of operation rather than a date. Both controversy fields are empty, and fifteen years of nothing is a different object from two years of nothing. Ignition and Thunderpick have no founding year on record at all, so that weighting cannot be applied to them. New casinos sets out why a young site cannot have a track record yet; long-running casinos collects the operators on the other side of that line.
